CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Acura MDX
Summary
With 103 currently listed for sale and an average price of $28,154 CAD, 25.2% of 2019 Acura MDX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Acura MDX 4.44 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Acura MDX stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends strong V6 power, a comfortable ride, and a long list of standard features. By this point in the third generation, it had already gained a more modern dual-screen infotainment setup, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a broader set of driver-assist features, while still keeping the MDX’s practical family-friendly layout. It also remained one of the more appealing choices for buyers who wanted room for seven without moving to a larger, less manageable SUV.
What makes the 2019 model especially distinctive is the balance it strikes between usefulness and refinement. The third-generation MDX’s 3.5-litre V6 made 290 horsepower, and the model was rated at 11.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined with Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive. It also offered a more spacious second row than the previous generation’s version was said to have, though cargo space was reduced and the third row stayed small. That means the 2019 MDX is attractive if you value comfort, standard equipment, and all-weather capability, but it is less convincing if you want the most intuitive infotainment system or the roomiest third row.

How much does the 2019 Acura MDX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $28,080 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $27,022 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $31,728 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $31,714 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.46% |

There are 98 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?
Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, and reliable performance, and many also like the V6 power and luxury features. It fits well if you want a three-row luxury SUV with family-friendly practicality, comfort, and all-weather capability. 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback highlights reliable performance, and many drivers describe it as dependable and trouble-free over time. That said, used buyers should still watch for the usual age-related wear items and make sure maintenance has been kept up.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $27,022 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?
The current average of $28,080 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,714 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive level today, but it also suggests future resale gains may be more modest if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend means you may need to price competitively to stand out. Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $30,145 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $28,080 CAD average.
- It adds a broader reputation for family-focused practicality and standard advanced safety features.
The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a lower entry price and still want the MDX’s comfort, V6 power, and family-friendly layout. If you can stretch your budget, the 2020 is worth considering for shoppers who want a newer model-year package and are willing to pay more for it.
