CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Acura MDX
Summary
With 21 currently listed for sale near Montreal, QC and an average price of $30,990 CAD, 42.9% of 2019 Acura MDXs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Acura MDX stands out as a three-row luxury crossover that blends family practicality with a sportier personality than many rivals. It has long been known for offering room for seven, a comfortable cabin, and a solid reputation for quality, while also being less expensive to buy than many German alternatives and usually better equipped. For buyers who want a used luxury SUV with a third row, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
By 2019, the third-generation MDX had already gained a number of useful updates. It featured a re-engineered 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower, and Acura had added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to help make the dual-screen infotainment setup easier to live with. The 2017 refresh also brought standard safety systems, including adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, along with a visual update that removed the controversial grille. Fuel economy was another strength for this generation, with Natural Resources Canada rating it at 11.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined.
There are still compromises to consider. The infotainment system was not especially easy to use, and the third row remained tight. Interior room also shrank compared with the previous generation, including less cargo space overall. Even so, the 2019 Acura MDX remains appealing because it combines strong standard equipment, respectable efficiency, and a polished driving character in a package that still feels practical for everyday use.

| Year-Round High | $31,728 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $31,714 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.46% |

There are 98 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?
Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, and reliable performance, and many also like the V6 power and luxury features. It fits well if you want a three-row luxury SUV with family-friendly practicality, comfort, and all-weather capability. 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback highlights reliable performance, and many drivers describe it as dependable and trouble-free over time. That said, used buyers should still watch for the usual age-related wear items and make sure maintenance has been kept up.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $27,022 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?
The current average of $28,080 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,714 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive level today, but it also suggests future resale gains may be more modest if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend means you may need to price competitively to stand out. Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.46% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $30,145 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $28,080 CAD average.
- It adds a broader reputation for family-focused practicality and standard advanced safety features.
The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want a lower entry price and still want the MDX’s comfort, V6 power, and family-friendly layout. If you can stretch your budget, the 2020 is worth considering for shoppers who want a newer model-year package and are willing to pay more for it.
