The current average of $21,928 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,101 CAD.

That price movement suggests the XC90 has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about pricing if they want to move the vehicle quickly. The current market shows a meaningful drop from a year ago, which can help you buy at a better entry point now, but it may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-regarded luxury three-row SUV with strong owner approval and a softer price than it had a year ago, the 2018 XC90 is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar XC90 offers a better deal, but the 2018 already gives you a strong mix of value, satisfaction, and market availability.
