Is the 2018 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the smooth and comfortable ride, spacious interior, and luxurious features, and many also value the RX’s upscale feel. It suits you well if you want a luxury SUV that prioritises comfort and refinement over flashier ambitions. Is the 2018 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights that many drivers find it reliable with low maintenance costs, and the model’s reputation for dependable, trouble-free ownership comes through clearly in owner comments. That makes it a reassuring choice if you want a used luxury SUV you can count on over the long term.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about durability and more about whether the technology and cabin features feel dated enough to bother you over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 112 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,489 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $31,489 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,983 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the RX already sits in a relatively stable used-price band, its resale outlook depends heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Strong demand for comfortable, upscale SUVs should continue to support values, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a comfortable, well-liked luxury SUV with a softer used price and a decent pool of deal-priced listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing for a lower entry cost, but the 2018 remains the stronger all-around pick if comfort, refinement, and owner satisfaction matter most.
