Is the 2018 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Lexus RX earns a 4.64/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth and comfortable ride, spacious interior, and luxurious features, while the overview highlights its comfort-first character, refined cabin, and reputation for long-term dependability. If you want a luxury SUV that prioritises a quiet, easygoing driving experience over flashier performance, it fits that brief well. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability, low maintenance costs, and a trouble-free ownership experience, which aligns with the RX’s reputation for dependable long-term use. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the technology and features feel dated enough to bother you over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 119 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.16% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,937 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $32,937 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,012 CAD.

That price movement suggests the RX has softened a bit in the used market, which can create a more approachable entry point for buyers today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone. Because the model still has a strong reputation with owners, demand should remain steady enough to support values better than many rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, well-regarded luxury SUV and you value a strong ownership reputation, the 2018 is the year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains the better all-around pick when you want a balance of satisfaction, value, and market availability.
