Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Jeep Cherokee earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its features, spaciousness, smooth ride, and good value, and many also appreciate the available 4X4 capability. For you, that makes it a sensible choice if you want a compact SUV that balances everyday usability with a bit of Jeep character. Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable enough to live with day to day, especially when it comes to comfort, features, and overall ownership experience. The repeated praise for its smooth ride and value suggests that many buyers feel confident keeping it for the long haul. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so service history matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 408 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.08% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,623 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $16,145 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,574 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong demand for well-kept examples should help support values, especially for trims and listings that present well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a good primary choice if you want a used Cherokee with strong owner approval, decent market availability, and a softer price than it had a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
