Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Jeep Cherokee earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and suits your expectations for features and drivability.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 410 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.45% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,484 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $16,083 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,798 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Cherokee more attractive to used buyers now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively. If you buy at today’s average, there is less room for a dramatic resale gain unless demand strengthens. Strong feature content and broad shopper appeal can help support value, but the current trend still favours buyers more than sellers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a good pick if you want a well-liked Cherokee with strong value and a decent chance of finding a competitively priced listing. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-equipped example in your budget, but the 2018 remains the better all-around choice when you want a balance of satisfaction, features, and current market value.
