There are 120 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Hyundai Sonata earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its reliability, value, and comfort, and many also like the spacious interior and smooth ride. That makes it a sensible fit if you want a roomy, well-equipped midsize sedan that delivers a lot of features for the money. With 32.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability as one of the model’s strengths, alongside value and comfort, and some owners describe it as a car they can count on. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since long-term ownership risk can rise if the car has been neglected or has unresolved wear items.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 120 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,439 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $12,666 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,748 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the trend continues. If you buy at a strong price now, you may have less downside risk later than someone who paid closer to the prior average. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Sonata is the better pick if you want a roomy, comfortable, and well-equipped sedan at a softened price point, especially if you can find one that lands near the lower end of the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
