Is the 2018 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Honda Pilot earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its great value, spaciousness, and driving comfort, and many also like the roomy interior and rear entertainment system for family use. It fits well if you want a practical three-row SUV with a car-like ride and seating for up to eight passengers. With 32.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback describes it as reliable, and many owners see it as a dependable family SUV with a comfortable, trouble-free feel over the long term. The strongest praise centres on everyday usefulness and confidence in ownership, even though some drivers mention minor concerns such as emissions-related issues. For used buyers, that means the main long-term risk is less about the Pilot’s core appeal and more about checking individual vehicle history carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 172 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,059 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $23,069 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,770 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Pilot has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilises. Because the current average is close to the year-round low, there may be less downside left than there was a year ago. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want a spacious, family-friendly three-row SUV and you value a softer price trend. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a slightly older or newer Pilot gives you a better mix of value and inventory, but the 2018 remains the safer all-around pick for shoppers focused on comfort and practicality.

How does the 2018 Honda Pilot compare to the 2018 Toyota Highlander?

The Pilot gives you more power and a lower average used price, while the Highlander is slightly more fuel-efficient in city driving and has a marginally higher share of good and great deals. If you want the stronger value proposition and a roomier-feeling family SUV, the Pilot is the more compelling pick. If your priority is comparing closely priced alternatives with a slightly different efficiency profile, the Highlander is worth a look.
