Honda’s emphasis on smooth operation and everyday polish supports that impression, especially if you want a used sedan that should feel settled rather than fussy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Accord?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Accord’s higher trims add a more upscale feel, while the base versions are more straightforward. Some versions also miss features that appear on better-equipped trims, so it’s worth checking whether the car you’re considering has the equipment you expect.
• Powertrain: You can find turbocharged four-cylinder options, including a 1.5-litre turbo and a 2.0-litre turbo. The 2.0-litre engine is the stronger performer, while the 1.5-litre is the efficiency-focused choice.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing comes standard and includes auto-braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, LED low-beam headlights, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on Touring trims, and LaneWatch is included with Sport and EX-L.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims in Canada. The system is quick and easy to use, and Touring adds wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5T with CVT is rated at 7.9 L/100 km city and 6.3 L/100 km highway, while the 2.0T automatic goes up to 10.4 L/100 km city and 7.4 L/100 km highway. The manual versions and Sport and Touring trims with the 1.5T have higher ratings.

Which 2018 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda Accord is offered in 6 trim levels: Honda Accord LX, Sport, EX-L, Touring, Sport 2.0, Touring 2.0.

Here's the short version:

• Honda Accord LX: This is the simplest way into the Accord, and it makes sense if you want the core Accord experience without paying for extras. It still gets the standard safety suite, but it’s the most basic choice.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim if you want a more appealing mix of equipment and personality. It adds a more upscale look and includes LaneWatch, while still keeping the Accord’s practical strengths intact.
• EX-L: Choose this if you want a more premium-feeling cabin and the added convenience that comes with a better-equipped trim. It also includes LaneWatch.
• Touring: This is the most fully featured 1.5T trim, and it suits you if you want the most comfort and technology. It adds blind-spot monitoring and wireless device charging.
• Sport 2.0: Pick this if you want the stronger 2.0-litre engine and a sportier setup without going all the way to the top trim.
• Touring 2.0: This is the most powerful and best-equipped version in the lineup, so it’s the one to target if you want the fullest Accord experience.

Honda Sensing comes standard on every trim, while blind-spot monitoring is reserved for Touring trims and LaneWatch is included with Sport and EX-L.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have some leverage if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 230 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,140 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $19,282 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,364 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the chance of taking a big depreciation hit later. The Accord’s broad appeal, strong reputation, and steady owner satisfaction should help support demand, but future resale will still depend on trim, condition, and mileage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord safe?

The 2018 Honda Accord is rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, scoring the highest in all five crash tests and a separate crash-avoidance test that measures the auto-braking system. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives it a five-star overall safety rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing comes standard on every Accord and includes auto-braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, LED low-beam headlights, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on Touring trims, while LaneWatch is included with Sport and EX-L.

A lower headlight rating kept it from earning Top Safety Pick+ status, so that’s the main safety caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 model is the all-new tenth-generation Accord, and it stands out for blending everyday practicality with a more engaging driving character than many rivals.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Accord with strong owner satisfaction, broad standard safety equipment, and a market that has softened enough to create buying opportunities, the 2018 is a smart target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping carefully for a well-priced example below the low end of the range, but the 2018 remains the right pick when you want the newer body style and the strongest mix of comfort, efficiency, and driving enjoyment.
