This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 234 listings available.

The current average of $16,332 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,046 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later. The current inventory mix also suggests buyers have choices, which can put pressure on resale values if supply stays healthy.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2018 if you want a more premium-feeling compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 is the better path when you want a balanced mix of comfort, features, and value.
