Is the 2018 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially when it comes to dependable everyday use and confidence in the purchase. That said, some shoppers note they would like more features, so you may want to focus on examples that match your expectations closely. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a trim or condition level that does not deliver the feature set you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without waiting for a perfect deal.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 752 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,125 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $13,139 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,883 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means you should be realistic about how much value the vehicle may retain. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with the right equipment and condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Ford Escape makes sense if you want a well-liked used SUV with strong owner feedback and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is value, this year deserves a close look. If you are especially price-sensitive, compare it with nearby model years to see whether a lower-priced alternative gives you the same features and condition for less.
