• Inventory: There are 134 listings available.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the Tacoma’s strong reputation and steady demand help support its long-term value. If you buy well and keep the truck in good condition, you should still be working with a model that tends to hold buyer interest better than many rivals.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a Tacoma with strong owner approval, solid market demand, and a price trend that has eased a bit, the 2017 is a sensible place to start.
