Is the 2017 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Yes — the 4.88/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, comfort, and practical features, and many also like the spacious interior and clever cargo solutions such as the under-bed trunk. If you want truck usefulness without the usual compromises, the Ridgeline’s comfort-first approach fits that use case well. With 37.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive listing.

Is the 2017 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with many drivers describing it as a vehicle they can count on for everyday use. The combination of comfort, practicality, and positive long-term ownership sentiment suggests the Ridgeline has the kind of reputation used buyers often look for. For a used purchase, that lowers the sense of long-term ownership risk compared with a model that draws more mixed feedback.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Ridgeline?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 70 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.98% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,953 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $23,494 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,632 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, there is less room for immediate appreciation, so resale value will depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the truck is equipped. Strong demand for practical, comfortable pickups should still help support values over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the Ridgeline’s comfort-first take on truck ownership, the 2017 is a strong year to target because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar truck is listed at a better value, but the 2017 remains a sensible primary choice for shoppers who prioritise everyday usability and a refined driving experience.
