How much does the 2017 RAM 1500 cost?

Is the 2017 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.82/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the comfortable ride, powerful performance, and variety of features, while the spacious interior and advanced technology also come up often. For you, that means this truck fits especially well if you want a full-size pickup that balances everyday comfort with work-truck usefulness. With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a truck that many drivers find dependable, with praise centred on its comfortable ride, strong performance, and overall satisfaction over time. That kind of response suggests the 2017 RAM 1500 has the sort of long-term appeal used buyers often want in a full-size pickup. For you, the main ownership risk is making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained well, since condition matters more as these trucks age.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding value.
• Inventory: There are 869 listings available, so you have enough supply to compare condition, mileage, and equipment.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.02% compared with last year.
• If you find a listing below $20,177 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $20,291 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,330 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good for you as a buyer but less favourable if you're planning to sell soon. If you own one now, the softer pricing means future resale gains may be limited unless your truck is in especially strong condition or well equipped. Even so, the model's broad appeal should help it remain relevant with used-truck shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 RAM 1500 makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, well-liked full-size truck and you value a healthier used-market price than you would have seen a year ago. If you're price-sensitive, this is a good year to target because the market has softened and there are enough listings to shop selectively. If you want the best possible value, focus on the cleanest truck you can find rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
