The strongest praise centres on its ride quality, performance, and feature set, which suggests a well-liked ownership experience rather than a short-term novelty. If you find a listing below $20,157 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $20,157 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,124 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck more attractive to buyers now but may also mean future sellers need to price competitively. If you buy at today's average, you are starting from a lower entry point than a year ago, which can help cushion depreciation if the market stays steady. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used full-size pickup that blends comfort, strong owner approval, and a softer price than it had a year ago, the 2017 is a sensible primary choice. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you can also keep shopping nearby years and focus on the best-priced truck with the right cab, bed, and equipment for your needs.
