This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 943 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $19,623 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,927 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than to broad market momentum alone. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong shape, you’ll be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want a used full-size truck with a comfortable ride, a roomy cabin, and broad configuration flexibility. If your priority is value, this year looks especially appealing because prices have eased and deal availability is decent. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar truck offers a lower entry point or more equipment for the money.
