Drivers consistently praise its comfortable ride, powerful performance, and variety of features, and many also like the spacious interior and advanced technology, especially the sound system and touchscreen display. The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for its comfortable ride, powerful performance, and feature-rich cabin. Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 948 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,797 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $19,797 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,928 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that a lower entry price today can help support demand, but you should still expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used full-size pickup that balances comfort, features, and everyday usability, the 2017 is the primary year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be the better secondary path, especially if you are willing to trade some feature content or market freshness for savings.
