If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later, especially if you choose a clean, well-maintained example. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 21.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $16,974 CAD, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,234 CAD average.
• It adds a more compelling chassis and broader cabin appeal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2014 if you want a comfortable, well-equipped full-size truck at a lower average price. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling alternative with a stronger chassis focus, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
