How much does the 2017 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 13.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 922 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for used-truck shoppers.

Is the 2017 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its comfortable ride, powerful performance, and variety of features, while the spacious interior and advanced technology also stand out. For you, that makes it especially appealing if you want a full-size pickup that feels more refined and usable day to day. With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value to be found.

Is the 2017 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in everyday use, with owners highlighting its comfortable ride and strong performance over time. That kind of praise matters if you want a used pickup you can count on for regular driving as well as work duties. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific truck has been maintained properly, since wear and tear can matter more than the model’s overall reputation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are shopping carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 922 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,997 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $19,997 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,098 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim appeal. A well-kept example can still hold interest, but the softer pricing trend means you should be realistic about appreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used full-size truck with a comfortable ride, strong owner approval, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities, the 2017 is a solid place to focus. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may also want to compare nearby years and look for the best-priced, best-maintained example rather than fixating on one model year.
