How much does the 2017 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 18.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 128 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliable, efficient character, along with its smooth driving experience and attractive styling. For you, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a practical compact sedan with good fuel economy and everyday usability. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market value to explore.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights it as reliable, efficient, and trouble-free for many drivers, with several noting dependable day-to-day use and good gas mileage. At the same time, the CVT transmission concerns are part of the ownership story, so a careful inspection and test drive matter if you are buying used. For long-term ownership, that means your biggest risk is less about the car’s basic practicality and more about transmission-related wear or complaints.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 128 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.97% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,408 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $9,408 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,610 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The fact that the model still attracts solid owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness, the 2017 is the year to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2017’s stronger market position and owner feedback.
