Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Generally — with a user rating of 4.25/5, the 2014 Nissan Sentra looks like a sensible used-car pick if you want a practical compact sedan. The overview points to a roomy cabin, improved efficiency, and straightforward packaging, which makes it appealing if you value everyday usability over flash. It also has a simple trim walk, so you can shop for the equipment level that fits your needs without a lot of complexity.

The market also shows 26.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.25/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes that this generation was revised for 2014, including updates to the CVT, steering, and infotainment system, which points to a model that was refined for daily use. Even so, the transmission deserves careful inspection on a used example because CVT condition can be a key ownership concern.

For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term risk is making sure the transmission has been maintained properly and feels healthy on a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a decent example.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 79 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $7,091 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $7,294 CAD sits slightly below last year's $8,496 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current trend means you should be realistic about pricing and expect buyers to compare your listing closely against similarly priced compact sedans.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.25/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 Sentra makes the most sense if you want a practical, roomy compact sedan and you can verify that the transmission is in good shape. If you are especially price-sensitive, this year’s softer pricing and decent deal availability make it worth a close look; if you want to compare options, a nearby model year may be the better path if it offers a cleaner example at a similar price.
