Used 2017 Nissan Sentra for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2017 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 16.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 136 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliable character, efficient fuel economy, and smooth driving experience, and many also like its attractive styling. For you, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a practical compact sedan with low running-cost appeal and everyday usability. With 34.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights it as reliable, dependable, and trouble-free for many drivers, especially when it comes to efficient daily use and long-term ownership confidence. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to transmission history and test-drive behaviour, since that is the main ownership risk to manage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 136 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,590 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $9,590 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,425 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the softer pricing means you may need to be more competitive on asking price to stand out. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but the broader market trend still matters when you go to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Sentra makes the most sense if you want a value-focused compact sedan with strong owner approval and you are comfortable shopping carefully for the right example. If you are especially price-sensitive, the softer market and decent deal availability make this a good year to target; if you want to compare alternatives, nearby model years may be worth considering, but the 2017 stands out for its balance of affordability and owner satisfaction.
