What is the 2017 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $11,570 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,454 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may face a more competitive market if supply stays healthy. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The current spread between the low and high end also shows that condition, equipment, and mileage can still make a meaningful difference in what your car is worth.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.36/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible pick if you want a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan and you can find one with strong service history and a price that reflects the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may also be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains the better fit when you want a balance of affordability, equipment, and owner satisfaction.
