Is the 2017 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the safety features, power, and spacious interior, and they also value the wide range of trims and amenities. That makes sense if you want a full-size pickup that can serve as a work truck, a more comfortable daily driver, or a more upscale option depending on the configuration you choose. With 24.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of attractive options to compare.

Is the 2017 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck many people feel they can count on, especially when it comes to everyday use and long-term ownership confidence. The same feedback also highlights dependable-feeling strengths such as power, safety, and a roomy cabin. For used buyers, the main risk is that condition can vary widely, so a careful inspection matters more than usual on a truck with this much configuration spread.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 24.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 694 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,320 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $24,163 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,741 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s broad appeal should still help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. Stronger-condition trucks and popular trims should hold up better than higher-mileage or heavily used examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 24.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $21,383 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $24,163 CAD average.
• It leans luxury with a premium-feeling Limited trim.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $25,117 CAD, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $24,163 CAD average.
• It is more well-rounded for towing, efficiency, and daily use.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best all-around starting point if you want strong owner satisfaction, decent deal availability, and a softer price than last year. If your priority is saving money, the 2016 is the better value path; if you want a more polished all-rounder, the 2018 is worth stretching for.
