Is the 2017 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.68/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The review summary highlights the truck’s safety features, power, and spacious interior, and it also notes that many buyers value the range of options and upscale amenities in higher trims. That makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size pickup that can serve practical work duties while still offering comfort and flexibility. With 25.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.68/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a truck that many owners feel good about living with over time, especially when it comes to dependable day-to-day use and confidence in the vehicle’s overall capability. That said, used buyers should still inspect carefully for signs of wear and verify maintenance history, since long-term ownership risk can rise when a truck has seen hard use or inconsistent upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 704 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,421 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $24,195 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,047 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also temper short-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your return will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should still hold attention, especially if they appeal to shoppers looking for a capable, well-equipped full-size pickup.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.68/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.68/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $21,808 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $24,195 CAD average.
• It leans more heavily into luxury-focused refinement.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $25,039 CAD, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $24,195 CAD average.
• It is more well-rounded for everyday use and capability.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best all-around choice if you want a broad mix of capability, comfort, and trim variety at a softened market price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2016 is worth a look for lower entry cost, while the 2018 makes sense if you want a newer-feeling, more balanced truck and are willing to pay a bit more.
