Yes — the 4.68/5 user rating suggests you should feel confident considering it. That makes it a strong fit if you want a truck that can cover work duties, daily driving, or a more comfort-focused setup. Is the 2017 Ford F-150 reliable?

The owner feedback points to a truck that many drivers find dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with confidence in its power and long-term ownership experience. This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 24.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 643 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.21% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,431 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $24,106 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,261 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you purchase at the right price, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who bought when values were higher. Strong demand for well-equipped trucks can still support resale, especially if the truck is clean, well maintained, and attractively optioned.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.68/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 24.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.68/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $21,452 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $24,106 CAD average.
• It leans into luxury while still feeling like a capable full-size pickup.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $25,035 CAD, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $24,106 CAD average.
• It is a more well-rounded all-rounder with stronger everyday balance.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best primary pick if you want a broad mix of capability, comfort, and market value. If your priority is spending less, the 2016 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2018 makes sense if you want a slightly newer truck and are willing to pay more for a more polished all-round package.
