This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 89 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.90% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $10,630 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,437 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Trax has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it easier to move if you price it competitively later. For a future seller, the softer market means you may need to lean on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out. The good news is that a practical, fuel-efficient small SUV with broad appeal can still attract steady interest when it is presented well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used Trax with updated tech and a strong value position, the 2017 is the year to focus on. It makes the most sense if you prioritise affordability, compact size, and everyday practicality. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2017 offers a good balance of features and market value.
