Owners commonly praise its spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price. The cabin is also a practical fit if you want a roomy compact SUV with flexible space for passengers and cargo, and the comfort features add to its everyday appeal.

User feedback also highlights dependability, along with the comfort and value that help make it appealing as a used SUV. That said, the best ownership experiences tend to come from examples with careful maintenance and a clean service record.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition and upkeep matter a lot, so a thorough inspection is especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 21.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 247 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,168 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $11,168 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,017 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Equinox easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you own one, resale value will likely depend heavily on condition, maintenance records, and how well the vehicle presents against similar listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 21.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, comfortable compact SUV at a relatively low used price, the 2017 is a sensible target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the cheapest one.
