The current average of $18,700 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,587 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can be helpful if you are buying now but means future resale gains may be more limited in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing gives you a realistic benchmark for what the market is willing to pay today. Strong demand for practical SUVs can still support values, especially when the vehicle has a good reputation and broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?
