The current average of $14,724 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,217 CAD.

That softer pricing means future sellers may not see the same level of appreciation they would have a year ago, but it can also help keep the XC60 attractive to value-focused shoppers. If you buy at the right price, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The current market also suggests there is still steady demand for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the XC60’s safety-first, comfortable, premium character and you can find a well-priced example. If you are more price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2016’s current market softness.
