Is the 2016 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise for its performance and power and an overall sense that it can be counted on for practical duties. Some reviewers do mention concerns with specific tech functions and missing features like a backup camera, so you should still check equipment carefully on any used example. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad satisfaction and more about making sure the individual truck’s features and condition match your expectations.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 672 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,199 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $18,199 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,965 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current pricing trend implies you should focus on buying well and keeping the truck in strong condition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $16,236 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,199 CAD average.
• It offers broad powertrain and cabin choices.

The bottom line: Choose the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and available deals. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better value-oriented path, especially if you like its flexible powertrain and cabin mix.
