How much does the 2016 Nissan Sentra cost?

There are 120 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a practical compact sedan with a more spacious interior and a more fuel-efficient powertrain, and it also highlights its comfort, space, and everyday usability. That makes it a sensible fit if you want a commuter-focused sedan rather than something tuned for excitement. With 28.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview says this generation was built around practicality, value, and efficiency, with a lighter body and a more fuel-efficient powertrain than before. It also notes that the CVT is part of what made these models less appealing to some shoppers, so you should pay close attention to transmission behaviour on a used example. For long-term ownership, that means the biggest risk is choosing a car with deferred maintenance or a transmission that has not been well cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 120 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,469 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $8,469 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,085 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, that means your best chance of holding value will come from buying well, keeping the car in strong condition, and avoiding examples with questionable maintenance history. Because the model is positioned as a practical commuter, resale tends to depend more on condition and value than on performance appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a practical, value-oriented compact sedan and you find one in good condition at a competitive price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may also be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as a balanced choice when comfort, space, and everyday usability matter most.
