How much does the 2016 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 12.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 117 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner approval. The overview frames it as a roomy, efficient compact sedan with a more spacious interior, a more fuel-efficient powertrain, and a refreshed look thanks to the V-motion grille. That makes it a sensible fit if you want an affordable everyday sedan with practical space and straightforward value. 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes that this generation is considered the least reliable because of CVT issues, so reliability depends heavily on the condition and maintenance history of the specific car you’re considering. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth taking seriously, especially if the transmission has not been well documented.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 117 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.79% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,574 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $8,680 CAD sits slightly below last year's $9,953 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you pay near the lower end of the current range, you may have less downside left than a shopper who buys closer to the top of the market. The Sentra’s practical positioning can still support demand among budget-minded buyers looking for an efficient compact sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: Buy the 2016 if you want a roomy, efficient compact sedan with a refreshed look and you can find one with solid maintenance records at a fair price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains a sensible choice when value and everyday usability matter most.
