Is the 2016 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong overall appeal for used-car shoppers. The overview highlights a more spacious interior, improved fuel efficiency, and a lighter body than the outgoing model, all of which support its case as an affordable compact sedan. Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 122 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,885 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $9,010 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,039 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, the lower entry cost can help offset some depreciation pressure later. The Sentra’s practical layout and efficiency should keep it relevant with budget-minded shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Nissan Sentra makes sense if you want a practical compact sedan with a spacious cabin, improved efficiency, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are price-sensitive, this is a good year to target because the average price has eased and deal availability is solid. Just make sure you prioritise a careful inspection and test drive, especially if you are considering a CVT-equipped example.
