Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Generally — with a 4.3/5 user rating, the 2014 Nissan Sentra looks like a sensible pick if you want a compact sedan that prioritises space and efficiency. The overview points to a roomier interior than the outgoing model, a more fuel-efficient powertrain, and a lighter design that helps it feel easy to live with. That makes it a practical choice for commuting and everyday use, especially if you value comfort and economy over flash.

With 22.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes that this generation benefited from a revised CVT, steering updates, and infotainment improvements, which supports its appeal as a more polished compact sedan. At the same time, you should pay close attention to transmission condition during a test drive, since CVT-related concerns are part of the ownership picture.

For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term ownership risk is making sure the transmission has been well maintained and behaves properly before you commit.

What is the 2014 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $7,316 CAD sits slightly below last year's $8,600 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you are buying now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the market tightens. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should still appeal to shoppers looking for an economical compact sedan.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 22.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.94% compared with last year.
