Is the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Generally — the 4.3/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked compact car. Drivers consistently praise its great fuel economy, reliability, and fun driving experience, and they also value its attractive design and affordable features compared with competitors. If you want a compact car that balances everyday practicality with a more engaging feel, this model year fits that brief well. 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability as one of the car’s strengths, alongside its trouble-free ownership experience and dependable day-to-day use. That said, you should still inspect maintenance history carefully, because used-car reliability depends heavily on how the previous owner maintained the vehicle. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying one that has been neglected rather than one that is inherently unsuitable.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 218 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.08% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,452 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $11,669 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,122 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should focus on condition, service records, and trim appeal to protect value. Well-kept examples are more likely to stand out in a market where buyers have plenty of choices.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used compact car with strong fuel economy, a fun driving feel, and a price that has eased compared with last year, the 2016 is a sensible place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a better-equipped or better-priced example is available, but the 2016 remains a solid value-focused choice.
