Is the 2016 Nissan Murano a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Nissan Murano earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to solid overall appeal for shoppers who want a comfort-first midsize SUV. Its design is more upscale than typical in the segment, and its cabin is well equipped, especially if you value features like heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen. It also suits you well if you want a relaxed family SUV with a more premium feel rather than a sporty driving experience.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Murano’s comfort-focused design and well-equipped cabin suggest it was built to appeal to buyers who plan to keep it for everyday use rather than push it hard. Its continuously variable transmission is better than many others of its type, but it is still a factor you should evaluate carefully on a used example. For long-term ownership, your main risk is choosing a vehicle with deferred maintenance or transmission wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Murano?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy while still acting quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 172 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.88% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,737 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $12,737 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,511 CAD.

That softer pricing means future sellers may face more competition if the market stays value-focused. If you buy well now, you may have less room for appreciation later, but you can still protect resale value by choosing a clean, well-maintained example with desirable equipment. The Murano’s comfort-first appeal should help it remain attractive to buyers who want a refined midsize SUV.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfort-focused midsize SUV with a more premium feel and you find a well-priced example, the 2016 is a sensible choice. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-priced, best-maintained listing rather than the badge year alone.
