How much does the 2016 Nissan Altima cost?

Is the 2016 Nissan Altima a good car?

Generally — the 4.47/5 user rating points to a car that many owners feel good about living with. Drivers consistently praise its great gas mileage, sleek design, and comfort, and many also value the modern features and overall value for the price. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a comfortable midsize sedan that focuses on everyday value rather than sporty driving. With 28.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The feedback also points to a car that many owners have found dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on comfort, efficiency, and value. At the same time, the CVT transmission comes up often in owner comments, and that is the main area you should scrutinise when shopping used.

For a used buyer, the long-term ownership risk is less about the cabin or fuel economy and more about making sure the transmission history is clean and the car has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 106 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.45% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,121 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $9,663 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,566 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but also means future resale gains may be limited. If you plan to sell later, you should expect value retention to be modest rather than strong. The good news is that a lower entry price can help offset some of that depreciation if you buy carefully.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the facelifted version with strong comfort, efficiency, and value at a lower current price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2016 is the better starting point when you want the updated look and a market that has already softened.
