Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.6/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. For you, that means this model year makes the most sense if you want a compact luxury car that leans into style, refinement, and everyday usability. Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback and review summaries point to a car that many drivers find reliable and enjoyable to live with over time, especially when it comes to comfort and performance. At the same time, the ownership picture is not spotless, with complaints centred on electrical issues and infotainment or display-screen problems. For used buyers, that means long-term risk is manageable, but you should pay close attention to maintenance records and how the electronics behave during a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 231 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,216 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $18,252 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,927 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. If you plan to sell later, the softer current pricing means your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and service history. Because the model still has broad appeal as a compact luxury car, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $23,152 CAD, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $18,252 CAD average.
• It keeps the same polished luxury feel while leaning into comfort and performance.

The bottom line:
You should start with the 2016 if value matters most, because it offers a lower average price and a meaningful discount from last year. If you want a newer alternative and are willing to pay more, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
