Why it stands out
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class stands out as a compact luxury car that leans hard into style, refinement, and performance. For this generation, Mercedes gave the C-Class a pseudo fastback shape and dramatic front and rear styling inspired by the 2014 W222 S-Class, while also making the car 100 kilograms lighter than before. It remained rear-wheel drive by design, with 4Matic all-wheel drive optional, and the lineup included sedan, coupe, and cabriolet body styles. That combination of sleek design, reduced weight, and traditional Mercedes character gives the 2016 model a more upscale feel than many rivals.
The 2016 C-Class also offers a strong mix of powertrain choices. The C 300 used a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, while the higher-spec C 400 used a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 with 329 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Both versions used a seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and the AMG C 63 brought a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Inside, the cabin was clearly aimed at luxury buyers, with finer materials, chrome and wood detailing, and a dashboard design inspired by the S-Class. The standard 7-inch touchscreen and optional 8.4-inch unit were paired with Mercedes MBUX infotainment, and the car also offered optional driver-assistance features such as active blind spot assistance and adaptive cruise control.
There are a few trade-offs, though. The back seat is only about average for the class, with 894 mm of rear legroom, and the trunk is modest at 356 litres in the sedan and as little as 250 litres in the convertible. Reliability is also mixed, with complaints centred on electrical issues and infotainment or display-screen problems. Even so, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class remains appealing because it delivers a genuinely premium cabin, strong performance, and a broad range of versions in a package that still feels distinctive.

As of right now this car couldn’t be any better. Fast, luxurious, good on gas. Really everything you want in a car. I just haven’t had it long enough to comment on reliability but i love it!

Nice clean car overall, however given the year make/model it doesn’t have the basic features backup camera or blind spot monitoring, disappointing!
