How much does the 2016 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 1.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 101 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2016 MINI Cooper earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise its fun driving experience, sporty design, and responsive handling, and many also like its peppy power and comfortable interior. If you want a small, premium-feeling car that is more about driving enjoyment than maximum practicality, this model year fits that use case well. With 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that many people find dependable and enjoyable over time, especially when it comes to everyday use and the kind of trouble-free ownership experience shoppers want from a small hatchback. That said, the 2016 model year is identified as one of the more troublesome years, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot when you are evaluating a used one.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a neglected example could bring more repair uncertainty than a better-maintained rival.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 101 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,394 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $13,236 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,462 CAD.

That kind of softening suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the current average is still close to the year-round high, well-kept examples should remain reasonably marketable if they are presented well and priced in line with condition. If you are buying now, a cleaner car with strong records may help protect more of its value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should buy the 2016 MINI Cooper if you want the strongest mix of value and personality in this range, especially if you care more about fun handling and a premium-feeling cabin than maximum space. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains a sensible pick when you find a well-kept example with solid maintenance history.
