The current average of $10,409 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,856 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the current trend points to a model that is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively appreciating. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Volkswagen Passat or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 20.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2015 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked used sedan with softer pricing and a decent chance of finding a fair deal. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on listings near the low end of the range and compare them carefully against other model years before you commit.
