Should I buy a 2015 Volkswagen Passat or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.31% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2015 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked used sedan with solid owner feedback and a fair amount of inventory. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-priced examples rather than the newest one available.
