• Infotainment: Most models get a 7-inch touchscreen display, while the LX includes Bluetooth connectivity, music streaming, text messaging support, and a USB port. HondaLink smartphone pairing and services are part of the higher-spec tech story, and the Touring adds Siri Eyes Free support.

Which 2014 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2014 Honda Civic is offered in 6 trim levels: DX, LX, EX, Touring, Si, and Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• DX: This is the entry point if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with a very basic specification.
• LX: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the everyday essentials, including heated front seats, heated side mirrors, Bluetooth connectivity, music streaming, text messaging support, and a USB port.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more complete feature set, including automatic climate control, a sunroof, keyless entry with push-button ignition, LaneWatch, and HondaLink.
• Touring: This is the most upscale sedan trim, with leather, navigation, satellite radio, a power driver’s seat, and a reversing camera.
• Si: Pick this if you want the sportier setup, including a revised suspension and larger 18-inch wheels.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 252 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,166 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $11,230 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,962 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. It also means resale upside is likely to depend more on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market appreciation.

Because the Civic is still viewed as reliable, efficient, and well liked by owners, demand should remain reasonably steady for clean examples. Well-equipped trims and carefully maintained cars should be easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Honda Civic safe?

The 2014 Honda Civic earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Civic’s safety story is built around its Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, which is designed to better manage crash energy and protect occupants. SmartVent front side-impact airbags are standard, and the EX and higher trims add LaneWatch, while models with the optional navigation system add a multi-angle reversing camera with a 180-degree view.

One caveat is that LaneWatch is presented as a camera-based blind-spot aid rather than a traditional blind-spot system, and it is not standard on every trim.

Should I buy a 2014 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a refined, capable feel with strong value, safety, and efficiency.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,333 CAD, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,230 CAD average.
• It is described as meeting and exceeding small-car buyer preferences for reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, quality, and value.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction remains strong. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2015 is the safer alternative for buyers who want a slightly fresher take on the same basic formula.
