This truck has an LMM motor. MPG between this motor and the LBZ is about 5. This is not the one I want to buy. I would avoid this one.Aug 22, 2023

Thaw truck is in rough shape. Plenty of rust not shown in the pictures or description. ABS brake light on (not in description). Steering was very loose, and was leaking coolant.May 06, 2022

For the last 10 years this truck has treated me exceptionally well. I kept with the maintenance schedules. Ive towed a 28ft travel trailer. Ive plowed with it. It was a good fit for me.May 10, 2021

It’s a good truck with the 6.0 gas engine that has a Chevy 6 speed transmission but I prefer the 6.6 Diesel engine that has a lot more torque then the gas engine also has a very strong Allison transmission .Aug 16, 2020

I recommend finding any truck in the 2007 -2010 Silverado line that did not spend its life in Wisconsin. These models did not fair well in the excessive salt Wisconsin puts on its roads. They are plenty of these models out there and are a great truck to own and work with. Many dealers import then from the southern states.
I am and will but this model diesel truck for the simple reason of value for my money.Jul 27, 2020

Well built with attention to detail. The towing capability of this 2500 - 3/4 ton vehicle, has
made it the best all around package for towing anything you desire. For 5th wheel, or
boat, or trailer's of any type, it can handle it all.
Many extras make the convenience and enjoyment of a solid ride and safety for the entire
family. Long trips are nothing for this Silverado and the reliability is built in, and it has a super look in design.
This truck is a joy to drive, and feel solid and very safe and handles well in any conditions.Mar 15, 2015

Steering wheel intermediate shaft clunking. Known ongoing issue with Chev. Trucks.
Clunk feel transmits through the steering column. It is the intermediate shaft lubrication and after some wear the plastic steering column bushing has a little play in it. Both are replaceable, but this is not always necessary, as there is nothing mechanically wrong with the steering, nor is there a safety defect.Feb 23, 2015

This truck has head turning looks, yet would get the job done. Great towing capacity with gooseneck and bumper pull hitches. Always reliable never disappoints. The cab is roomy and very comfortable. Handles nice and is safe as they come.Nov 18, 2014

It is classic General Motors truck styling, big Diesel power with out boost lag. Six speed automatic Allision transmission that has been proven in bigger rigs for decades. Turn key reliability without the head aches of regeneration and DEF fluid. The classic LBZ Duramax is the way to go for budget minded people who don't want and headaches.May 05, 2013

Nice truck, but not great fuel economy. The truck looks nice it is comfortable. Maintenance costs are what is expected for a pick up truck. I have used it a few times for towing with no problems. This truck is worth your time.Mar 04, 2013

I liked and enjoyed everything about this truck. I would keep it for a very long time if it got better fuel mileage. This mileage is only 17 miles per gallon and I need to have at least 25 miles per gallon because of my location.Nov 13, 2012

Performance is great. No aftermarket chip/programmer ever. Very eye-
catching looks. extra fuel tank is nice so you can find cheaper diesel. Has
gooseneck hitch B&W turnoverball. All maintenance has been done by
chevy dealers. New tires all the way around.Jan 17, 2011

I pulled my 5th wheel holiday trailer nearly 6,000km to Dawson City and back, not an ounce of problems for the whole trip. The 6.6l diesel engine eats the long hills for breakfast. Very comfortable seats for those 6 hour drives.Apr 11, 2010

I love chevy trucks.. the 2008 / 2009 2500HD LTZ is beyond a doubt one of the best chevy has made.. if not the best.. it handles really well for a big truck, even taking this truck off roading it handles perfectly.. the only thing that should be changed.. is the appearance, its really nice but I think GM can make it look a little more beefyJul 24, 2009

best pickup in its class! bought the truck in november of 2006 and to this day i have no had a problem with anything besides routine matience. 6.6 liter durmax motor runs strong and the allison tranny shifts perfectly every time. great for towing with all the power that is put outAug 16, 2008

After 22 years and five wonderful Ford Powerstrokes I was forced to abandon the Ford when
their diesel program fell apart. My new "HD" Chevy is MUCH lighter than it's Ford twin, from
overall weight to suspension components, but we're really enjoying it. The quiet, tractable,
Duramax has HUGE power and decent fuel economy. It's a joy to tow with, and the cab and
creature comforts are best in class. I love the stereo system and nav too - it's great for a
factory system, though it could use new speakers.Sep 10, 2007
