There is nothing like dropping the top and taking my Camaro out for a ride on a nice Summer day.I had never even rode in a convertable before buying this car and now would consider buying another classic convertable.There are alot of 3rd gen Camaros out there ,but not alot of 3rd gen convertables in nice shape-at least around here in northern Ny state.I wish I could afford to do a complete paint job or total restore but since I cant,Im fixing it up one small job at a time.I have won a few trophies with it at local shows ,so I must be doing something right.Originality is I think ,what it has going for it most.The interior is sun faded from 22 years of sun but otherwise in top shape.Mechanically it is in great shape,and as of this writng has 76,000 miles on it.If the day comes that the engine is unrepairable- maybe then Ill drop a bigger engine in.I would like to keep it as original as possible until then.Jul 28, 2013

Old car needed a lot of work when I got it. It came with the v6 so it was lacking in power compared to its sisters. It was built well. I got it after a long rest in a field in the northern us and it still held together with the rust. I love the appearance the look of aggression is why I was originally drawn to the car in the first place. It cost me the amount i paid for the car in two years that I owned it. I would like to swap out motors with a built 350. The car would be awsome with at least 300 hp or more.The 5.0L TBI only puts out 170 hp thats not enough for a heavy car like that.Braking is bad.You have to be careful and not tail gate because this car will not stop on a dime it likes to skid.The only thing it has going for it is that it has a limited slip rear end and I do like to do burn outs in it.Dec 25, 2011

I like my car, it already has rear end and suspension upgrades from a WS-6 Trans Am. Needs a heart transplant though, the 305 just doesnt cut it. But it is still fun to drive, it corners very well.Dec 13, 2010

it has awesome acceleration. it has a rebuilt 5.0 liter (305 cubic inch) engine i have a magnaflow exhaust system in it and stainless steel tips and its very loud. it also has a custom made box that holds 2 subwoofersJun 01, 2010

I just bought this car and
I have a 350 which I bored and stroked to a 383 pushing around 330 horse and 411 lb/ft of torque. Married to the 4L60E it has more than enough power to pull down the hemi chargers and chipped diesels. They look in their mirrors when they hear the roar of my glass pack 3" duals. I am looking into 4 wheel disc brakes. This car is beautiful and all there so to speak. FREAKY FUN!!!Mar 11, 2010

Exellent style with the raised spoiler and the ground effects with air flow. Handled like it was on railroad tracks. I only lost 2 races in 15 years of owning this rare 5.7L fully loaded car. And was and still is a head turning machine.Dec 11, 2009

I'm sure it would have been a great car if it was new. The
reason I give this a not so good review is because it was given
to me in bad condition. It had major problems. It overheated,
had an oil leak somewhere, the air didn't work, the battery
constantly went dead, and the hood didn't stay up like it was
supposed to. I would recommend a 1991 camaro, but just

If you are looking for something that comes fast stock this is not it but with a good engine swap then you have the real deal. it rides okay but it looks great. fun to drive its upgraded with a 383 stroker motor.Oct 05, 2009

A+ love taking this car out and stomping on all the import non sense. Fun in straights and even more fun in corners. Gas mileage sucks, but you don't buy this kind of car to be environmentally or economically friendly.Aug 31, 2009

The car is definitly enough to take out most stock imports, so those honda's are yours if you know how to drive. You may need to do some repairs if the car is older or hasnt been taken care of 100% but the car is easy to work on and it pays you back everytime you floor the gas.Aug 22, 2009

I bought my '91 Chevrolet Camaro RS primarily as a commuter car that would get me to and from work quickly. (I had a bad habit of waking up late.)
The performance of the V6 engine was adequate even though the Camaro was heavier than it should have been for a V6. The handling seemed loose; an upgrade to the tires, wheels, struts and springs were a necessity for high speed turns.
OVERALL in stock form it was a good car, however upgrades were positively necessary for any kind of performance needed.

Dream car... I know its not much and people think i'm crazy but if u gave me a third gen with a fifth gen engine and suspension, i'd take it any day over a fifth gen... I'm in the process of dropping a Merc 350 engine into it. spec on the motor: stock 290 horse, add ZZ4 cam, ZZ4 ALL-ALUMINUM HEADS, edelbrock Performer intake, and a holley 650 and i should be good for atleast 370 horsies! 3.73 gears with torsen posi unit. 2400 tci stall. stage 2 shift kit. moser axles. 3" catback exhaust with flowmaster 80 series muffler. about 17 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. 1/4 mile in 14 sec. not bad for small modsJul 12, 2009

Everyone likes the car, it's a true eye catcher and is a great classic, I have a V8 and still get 25mpg on the highway, And me and my dad had 3 corvettes at one time a 75',91',and a 96' collectors edition and this Camaro has just as much acceleration,braking,and handling as they ever had , but it just doesnt have the top speed.The only problem i have with it is the rattle with the convertible top and the small puff of smoke when i start it in the morning, but what camaro doesnt do that. My interior is still in great condition and the exterior has only one 4 inch spot with paint missing.The cost to own it has been very cheap so far only needed a fuel filter and an air filter , short of scheduled oil changes. And i couldn't pick a better car to handle the tight turns and fast acceleration for the price better than a 3rd Gen Camaro.And I would recommend this car to anyone,u just cant have mine.Jan 16, 2009

I love this car its my baby! Iv'e redone everything from the motor which is now a 389 stroker with 675 hp. rebuilt the whole trans. with B&M ractchet shifter. 3 1/2" aluminum drive shaft. built rear end by moser, with eaten locker 3:73 gears 32 splind wealed axles, and a rear support gurdle cover. Fully adjustible rear racing suspension. totally redone interior, with system. Two sets of rims and tires ones with the sicks for the track and the other are for the street. Oct 03, 2008

i love my car
performance- this car handles better than any car i have ever driven it sits so low and with p225 60 r15s all the way around it can take anything you throw at it but right now with the original engine the car lacks top end.
Build Quality- the previous owner neglected the car so many repairs were needed but after repairing i have never had a problem out of the car
Appearance- recently painted chrysler black so the car looks great.
cost of ownership- Bad gas milage!!!
Fun factor- i love driving the car nothing beats rwd!!Oct 01, 2008

Gerat car with a 5.0 TBI V8. 170 HP was alittle anemic for a V8. But you could leave a nice black mark if you so desired. I wish I would have had the 5 speed manual and a 5.0 TPI or 5.7 TPI engine. But I was happy to own a Camaro.Sep 09, 2008

Performance wise I love the car, but it could be better. It needs more acceleration. Braking can and will be improved. It needs a serious paint job. Has some electrical problems, but nothing that can't be fixed. It's actually a V6, so gas is not a problem. The best part about it...I can supercharge or turbo it! I HATE THIS CAR! its pretty outside and a thrill to drive.... WHEN IT RUNS! its too low to the ground and hard to get out of. definitely not a daily driver. I have never had more problems with a car. -The accelerations is great,so is the braking for being such a heavy car. The handling could be better.
-It cost alot of gas drive this car it is a v8 and gets 11 miles to the gallon but oh well i dont car

acceleration excellent, under powered braking, could be better, good handling characteristics considering size and weight, no major repairs needed, appearence is truely original definately suggests American Muscle, good gas mileage for V8 especially comparing to todays engines, not much difference, the car is fun to drive, still an eye catcher and there were not that many built so soon to be a true collectors/classic car. orginally it was the small block 305 t.b.i. i took that out and put the 355 in with a little bit of a high rise intake manifold from edelbrock,its got a 4 barrell holley 650 on it and has power pack heads with a slight cam.. real fun to driveJul 01, 2008

Appearance - Exterior is Mint condition with a black paintjob with Blue Pearl accents.
Cost of Ownership - 88000 Miles with a fuel rating of 20mpg

this car is my baby. she's got a 305tpi with the t5 tranny. she just turned 50k miles. i've done lots of work to it mainly in the supension. she has no problems keep up with(and beating) 350s. she handles like a dream. i've set this car up to be an all around sports car. she takes off like a rocket and can still take turns like a rabbit.Mar 27, 2008

I Loved My 1991 Z28, with the L98 TPI, and the 4L60 Four-Speed Auto. Although it was a Fast Stock Motor @ 240Hp, GM would NOT match up that motor with a Manual tranny. I actually heard that the 305/W the Five Speed, was faster in the 1/4 mile than the 5.7l Auto. Jun 30, 2007
