Oh i loved this car, my 1988 ford escort XR3i converible, acceleration was fairly good, braking was pretty poor, handling wasn't that good till i lowered it 110mm, then it was fantastic,. the build quality was probably fantastic after it left the factory but by the time it came to me almost 20 years later it was all a bit tired, 19 gearboxes and a new exhaust centre pipe weekly over the course of 7 months. the appearance was very goody, it was a visually appealing car, if not a bit hairdresser, the cost of ownership was immense, cost me an absolute fortune to keep on the road from the £3400 yearly insurance bill to the constant mechanical failure, by the end of ownership the car owed me in excess of £15000.Oct 18, 2009
