My Escort was the 1.6l engine with the automatic transmission,good power and due to a broken exhaust good sound too haha.A good beginner car that doesnt cost much to maintain and gets decent gas mileage! There is really nothing exiting bout this car but it does have a certain charm in My opinion.Nov 03, 2011

This car was the worst new car I ever owned, within a month of receiving it the roof paint faded (due to a surreptitious repaint by the dealer I now know). It had the upgraded engine 1.6 liters, but even so configured it could hardly get out of it's own way or anyone else's for that matter. On the plus side the a/c always worked well and the radio sounded better than could be expected. Also the seating was comfortable and not really cramped.Mar 10, 2008
