What should I look for when buying a used Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: i-Activsense, with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: a standard 8.8-inch infotainment display with a dial controller, plus a 10.25-inch touchscreen on higher-trimmed models with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 offers these trims:

• GX: The entry trim uses the 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, plus standard front-wheel drive; it suits buyers who want the core MAZDA3 experience at the lowest price.
• GS: Adds the option of all-wheel drive, making it the best-value choice for shoppers who want extra traction without moving to the top trim.
• GT: Adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, reverse automatic braking, and the available Turbo engine, plus the 12-speaker Bose audio system.

What Mazda MAZDA3 do most buyers choose?

The Mazda MAZDA3 years with the most listings are 2018, 2024, and 2019.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine broad availability with the Mazda3’s strongest mix of style, driving enjoyment, and value. More listings also give you more room to compare trims, equipment, and prices before you buy.

What is the Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

Most Mazda MAZDA3 model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want stronger value. The biggest drops are concentrated in several recent and mid-cycle years, while a few years are falling more slowly and therefore retaining more of their value. Overall, the pattern points to a market where buyers can find meaningful savings across much of the lineup.

The 2025, 2017, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
