The Lexus RX has earned high praise from owners throughout its various model years for its luxury, comfort, and reliability. Many drivers appreciate the upscale interior, smooth rides, and a solid array of features that enhance the driving experience. However, some have expressed concerns regarding performance, such as limited pick-up power and fuel economy, as well as outdated technology in older models. Overall, the RX remains a well-regarded choice for those seeking a comfortable and reliable luxury SUV.

Love our 2020 Lexus RX — it’s smooth, quiet, and feels genuinely luxurious. The interior quality and comfort are exactly what I hoped for. My only complaints are the subscription requirements for remote start and navigation, and I wish the rear seats had warmers. Overall, excellent value, great reliability, and a car that feels like it will last.

Value is everything with the Lexus RX350. This model year of 2009 was the last year of the 2nd generation ( 2004-2009) of this model. The engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 bullet proof engine 2GR-FE model that if properly taken care of ( oil & oil filter change every 5K miles-ideally) , will last at least 300k miles. This is the car that really does check all the boxes. A 2009 is at an age where mileage is still acceptable between 100-160k, which is just fine for a Toyota-Lexus. At a price of between $7,999-10,500 (at least here in SoCal) it’s like getting a nearly new car for the price of just an ok car. All the features, accessories and quiet - luxury ride. And with comfort (95% of this model have leather and moonroof) its a no brainer. Airbags all over the place. Lots of cargo room in back ( find one with the cargo cover !) . If you can find a one owner, dealership maintained car that’s the best! ! Remember, the demographic that bought these babies new could afford to take care of these with the normal maintenance. These first owners were also older so they didn’t drive these hard. Except for bad accidents you really don’t see these in junkyards so that says a lot. If you don’t live in the rust belt of snow and salt on the roads this car just keeps going and going. Absolutely the best car for a student! The RX is the “Honda Civic” of the Lexus world which means you see them everywhere, for a reason. This model of car has been sold since 1998 ! So when price, quality, dependability,, safety, usefulness , and just plain looks all come together, it’s a no brainer of a great car. The ONLY, negative is fuel mileage with 18mpg city and 23 freeway.

Extremely clean interior with the exception of one tear in the drivers seat, made me want to buy this vehicle. The interior felt new. No stains, not even dirt. The exterior had been repainted at one point, albeit well done. The listing says no accidents but it had a minor cosmetic rear impact in 2014 (no big deal) and unfortunately also had a tree branch fall on the sunroof shattering the glass and, despite being repaired, leaving it inoperable at least consistently. When I tested the sunroof, it wouldn't close because broken glass particles were in the way. Those were cleaned up and the dealer says it’s functioning now, but you take on some risk. Not the end of the world. If I purchased this vehicle, I’d pull the fuse that operates the sunroof and leave it in the closed position. It drove smooth, drivetrain felt great, smooth transmission, alignment, breaks, suspension.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that prioritises comfort, refinement, and long-term dependability over flashier ambitions. By this generation, the RX had grown sharper in appearance and more substantial in size, with the fourth-generation redesign bringing a sleeker shape, more ground clearance, and a roomier cabin with improved materials and more passenger space. It also kept the practical strengths that helped define the model in the first place: strong resale values, a reputation for reliability, and standard all-wheel drive in Canada.
For 2015, the RX’s appeal is rooted in its balanced, easygoing character. The RX 350 used a 3.5-litre V6 with 295 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque, while the RX 450h hybrid delivered 308 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. Lexus also made safety a clear priority, with Lexus Safety Sense standard from 2017 in this generation, though that does not apply to the 2015 model year. What does matter for 2015 is that the RX already offered a well-equipped, comfortable package with features such as keyless entry and ignition, a rearview camera, and available amenities like a navigation system and ventilated front seats.
There are trade-offs, and they are part of the RX’s identity. The sharply raked rear liftgate reduced practicality for bulky cargo, and the available sport-tuned suspension could improve handling at the expense of ride comfort. Even so, the 2015 Lexus RX remains appealing because it delivers the qualities many used luxury buyers value most: a quiet, polished driving experience, solid efficiency for the class, and the sense that it was built to last.
